AHD Certified Coach · Lesson 24 · Course version 1.0

Final Exam & Certification

Three steps to earn the AHD Certified Coach credential: pass the 32-question exam with 80% or better, complete the practical work, and submit your capstone with your filmed session. BK reviews every submission personally.

How it works

1 · Exam32 questions, 4 per module. 26 correct (80%) passes. Retake as often as you need.
2 · Practical workVideo-assessment worksheet, 90-minute practice plan and four-week athlete plan, filled in below.
3 · CapstoneYour philosophy and a 10–15 minute filmed session, graded on the 100-point rubric. 80 passes.

This course was built to the standards continuing-education programs look for: 12 instructional hours across eight modules, stated objectives for every lesson, a written exam and practical assessments, with records kept for every submission. Until outside accreditation is approved, AHD Certified Coach is an AHD credential, not an official CEU. Certification is valid for two years.

Final exam

Pick one answer for each question, then grade it. Your best score saves on this device.

Module 1 · The AHD Standard1. What are AHD’s four pillars of a complete hitter?

A complete hitter trains all four pillars, not just the swing.

Module 1 · The AHD Standard2. What is the “game gap”?

Cage reps come at known speed and location. Games don’t. The difference is the game gap.

Module 1 · The AHD Standard3. What is the AHD coaching sequence?

The sequence protects hitters from random corrections.

Module 1 · The AHD Standard4. Why is a swing-only solution incomplete?

A breakdown in any pillar can change the at-bat.

Module 2 · Evaluate Before You Prescribe5. Before giving instruction, an AHD coach should:

Measure first, then fix the one limiter that raises everything else.

Module 2 · Evaluate Before You Prescribe6. When evaluating a hitter’s stride, the best question is:

Judge function: balance, timing, launch, barrel path and repeatability.

Module 2 · Evaluate Before You Prescribe7. What is the AHD diagnostic chain, in order?

Start with what you see and trace it back before you prescribe.

Module 2 · Evaluate Before You Prescribe8. Why should a coach avoid correcting ten things at once?

Find the priority, not ten faults.

Module 3 · Pillar One: The Swing9. Mechanically Advantaged Angles (MAA) are best described as:

MAA are reference positions, not frozen poses.

Module 3 · Pillar One: The Swing10. In a ground-up sequence, what moves first?

Hips lead, hands follow, the barrel arrives last.

Module 3 · Pillar One: The Swing11. Why should the barrel match the plane of the pitch early?

Matching the plane builds room for timing error.

Module 3 · Pillar One: The Swing12. Why can the same drill help one hitter and confuse another?

Match the drill to the cause, not the symptom.

Module 4 · Pillar Two: Strength & Explosiveness13. “Train movements, not muscles” means a hitting program should prioritize:

Movement patterns build the athlete behind the swing.

Module 4 · Pillar Two: Strength & Explosiveness14. A big 14-year-old who has never lifted should start with:

Training age matters more than size or birthday.

Module 4 · Pillar Two: Strength & Explosiveness15. For power training, the best dose is usually:

Fast reps, full rest, low contacts and quiet landings.

Module 4 · Pillar Two: Strength & Explosiveness16. A player reports sharp pain in one spot on his elbow. The coach should:

Sore is okay. Sharp is stop. Coaches don’t diagnose injuries.

Module 5 · Pillar Three: The Hitting Processor17. What is the correct order of the Hitting Processor?

Timing comes before the final decision.

Module 5 · Pillar Three: The Hitting Processor18. Roughly how long does a 95 mph fastball take to reach the plate?

That tiny window is why hitters must predict.

Module 5 · Pillar Three: The Hitting Processor19. Because of the time limits of hitting, hitters must:

The brain predicts from early information.

Module 5 · Pillar Three: The Hitting Processor20. To handle off-speed, coaches should teach hitters to:

Early, ready, adjust.

Module 6 · Pillar Four: The Mental Approach21. The five steps of the AHD pre-pitch routine are:

The routine finishes the thinking before the delivery.

Module 6 · Pillar Four: The Mental Approach22. Evidence-based confidence comes from:

Confidence built on preparation survives a slump.

Module 6 · Pillar Four: The Mental Approach23. After a bad at-bat, AHD teaches hitters to:

Ten seconds. Next pitch.

Module 6 · Pillar Four: The Mental Approach24. During games, the coach should give hitters:

Save mechanics for practice. Keep game coaching simple.

Module 7 · Build Better Practices25. Which order matches the AHD practice ladder?

Climb the ladder every session.

Module 7 · Build Better Practices26. Best practice for coaching cues is:

One cue at a time. External, outcome-focused cues often work well.

Module 7 · Build Better Practices27. In the AHD 90-minute practice, what comes right after swing priority work?

Swing priority work, then processor work, then competitive transfer, then review.

Module 7 · Build Better Practices28. For hitters about 12 and under, top priorities include:

Coach the kid in front of you.

Module 8 · Individual Plans & Certification29. A four-week athlete roadmap must start with:

Evidence, priority, four weeks, retest.

Module 8 · Individual Plans & Certification30. What should parents be asked to do?

Parents are part of the team.

Module 8 · Individual Plans & Certification31. What score passes the AHD capstone rubric?

80 of 100 passes. Coaches below that get revision notes and can resubmit.

Module 8 · Individual Plans & Certification32. What is the AHD Certified Coach credential?

It is an AHD credential built to continuing-education standards, not an official CEU until accreditation is approved.
