IN-PERSON SESSIONS

Before the
first rep.

Every athlete at an AHD lesson, camp or clinic needs this signed once a year. Parents or guardians sign for athletes under 18.

Last updated: October 10, 2026

Who needs this

  • Every athlete at an AHD in-person session: Scottsdale lessons, camps, clinics, team sessions and live evaluations, in any state.
  • Sign once per athlete each calendar year, and again if anything on it changes (health, contacts, insurance).
  • Athletes under 18: a parent or legal guardian signs. Athletes 18 and older sign for themselves.
  • Please read the whole page. It affects your legal rights. Questions? Contact Coach at 480-881-5447 before you sign.

1. The activities

AHD in-person sessions include hitting off tees, soft toss, front toss, machine and live pitching; bunting; strength, speed, jumping, agility and arm-care work; testing such as exit velo, bat speed, sprint and vertical jump; and games and drills. They may take place indoors or outdoors, at fields, cages and training facilities that AHD does not own.

2. Known risks

Baseball and softball training carries real risk. Injuries can come from batted, thrown or pitched balls, swung bats, falls, collisions, equipment, field and facility conditions, heat and sun, overuse, other participants, and the athlete's own effort. They can range from bruises, sprains and strains to fractures, eye and dental injuries, concussions and, rarely, catastrophic injury or death. Coaching and safety rules lower these risks but cannot remove them.

3. Health and readiness

The signer confirms the athlete is physically able to take part, has told AHD about any medical condition, injury, allergy or medication that matters for training, and will tell AHD right away if that changes. AHD may keep an athlete out of an activity if it looks unsafe.

4. Safety rules

The athlete agrees to follow AHD's instructions and the Training Safety guidelines, wear a batting helmet when told to, use proper shoes and equipment, stay out of swing and throwing zones, and tell a coach immediately if they are hurt or feel unwell. AHD may send home an athlete who repeatedly ignores safety rules.

5. Assumption of risk

Knowing these risks, the athlete and the signer choose to take part voluntarily and accept the risks of the activities, to the fullest extent the law allows.

6. Release

To the fullest extent the law allows, the signer, for themselves, the athlete and their heirs, releases and agrees not to sue Hitting Universe, LLC, doing business as Athletic Hitting Development, BK, and AHD's coaches, staff, volunteers and host facilities (the "AHD Parties") for injury, illness, loss or damage arising from the athlete's participation, including claims based on the AHD Parties' ordinary negligence. This release does not cover gross negligence, reckless or intentional misconduct, or anything else the law does not allow to be released.

7. Medical authorization

If the athlete is hurt or becomes ill and a parent or guardian can't be reached right away, the signer authorizes AHD to seek and consent to emergency first aid, transport and medical care for the athlete. The signer is responsible for the cost of that care. AHD will try to reach the emergency contact as quickly as possible.

8. Photos and video

Coaches may film athletes during sessions to coach them. Signing this waiver does not let AHD post an athlete's image publicly. That needs separate Media Permission.

9. General

This waiver is governed by the law of the state where the session takes place, or Arizona law where that state's law allows it. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. It covers sessions in the year signed. It does not replace the Terms of Use or any written booking terms for refunds and rescheduling.
