Complete Hitters Aren’t Born. They’re Built… and Earned.
I’m humbled that anybody might read this. But I’m grateful, because I truly believe I can help 99% of hitters.
BK is Coach Billy Kehoe, founder of Athletic Hitting Development in Scottsdale, Arizona: 52 years playing, coaching and scouting, with youth, high school, college and pro hitters. His process is simple and hard: clear instruction, quality work, compete, retest, start over.
Find your first priority: SwingChecker™ free →1. I just turned 60
Sixty is the age where you get to say what you mean.
You stand up for it with every molecule of your soul. And as long as nobody gets hurt, you’re good.
So that’s what this is. No sales pitch dressed up as a story. Just me telling you who I am and what I believe about hitting.
Let’s get straight into it.
2. Fifty-two years, three groups of hitters
I’ve played, coached and scouted this game for 52 years.
I’ve had a unique path. It let me work with three major groups of hitters, each for a significant amount of time, and with good numbers of players at every level:
That’s let me study development with a compare-and-contrast most coaches never get, not because they aren’t smart, but simply because they haven’t had that kind of experience across all three levels.
Okay. Enough of the glory days.
3. See that many swings and patterns jump out
Here’s the bottom line.
When you see that many swings, patterns become obvious. They stick out like a sore thumb.
And this might surprise you: depending on where you are on the ladder of hitting development, there aren’t that many things you have to be good at.
They’re just as hard to be good at as anything on this planet.
4. The short list
Unless you’re the 1%, you have some combination of these four:
Extra length
The path to the ball is longer than it needs to be, so you need more time than the pitcher is giving you. Direct bat path →
Not as athletic as possible through the whole move
You lose your athleticism somewhere between the gather and the finish, and the swing pays for it. Move better, swing faster →
Inefficient head and eyes
If the eyes can’t get good information, the best swing in the world is guessing. The eye tool →
A wanky mental plan
No plan, the wrong plan, or a plan that falls apart with two strikes. Swing decisions are a skill →
You could break those down into a hundred specifics. And we do, one hitter at a time.
But all we really need is for you to move as efficiently as possible, at the right time.
Boom. Hitting genius talk. 🤣

5. There are answers. Earn them.
Look, I don’t care who you are or what level you’re at.
There ARE answers to move forward.
It’s just a matter of knowing what they are and attacking them, one by one.
Not ten things at once. Not a new drill from a new video every night. The first priority, then the next one, then the next one.
Nobody hands it to you. You earn it.
6. It’s not rocket science
Everyone can be so much better.
Everyone.
It isn’t rocket science. Here’s the whole thing:
- Clear instruction. You should know exactly what you’re working on and why.
- Quality work. Reps with a purpose, not reps to fill time.
- Compete. Take it into situations that look and feel like a game.
- Retest. Prove it got better. Don’t just hope it did.
- Start over. Go find the next thing.
7. If you want it, I can help ya
If you want it, I can help ya.

Quick answers
Who is BK?
BK is Coach Billy Kehoe, founder of Athletic Hitting Development (AHD) in Scottsdale, Arizona. He has 52 years of playing, coaching and scouting baseball, and has worked with youth, high school, college and professional hitters.
What holds most hitters back?
Unless a hitter is in the top 1%, it is usually some combination of four things: extra length in the swing, not staying as athletic as possible through the whole move, inefficient head and eyes, and a mental plan that isn’t clear. The goal is to move as efficiently as possible at the right time.
What is the AHD process?
Clear instruction. Quality work. Compete. Retest. Start over. Find the first priority, attack it, prove it got better, then go after the next one.
What if AHD doesn’t help my hitter?
BK will make it right. AHD courses are backed by the AHD Confidence Guarantee, with plain-English refund rules on the Guarantee & Refunds page.
