A high camera over home plate. Watch the pitch come in, tap SWING, and see exactly where the bat met the ball: out front, on the button, or late. Every swing is timed in milliseconds. Baseball and fastpitch.

Bird’s-Eye Timing Trainer

Tap SWING, the field, or the space bar. The bat needs about 150 ms to get to the ball, so start it before the ball gets there.

Why watch it from above

From the batter’s box, early and late look the same: a miss. From above you can see it. The gold dot is where the bat should meet the ball. The red dot is where it did. Red in front of gold means you were early. Red behind gold means late.

  • Inside pitch: contact out in front of the plate. On time, it gets pulled.
  • Middle pitch: a little out front. On time, it goes up the middle.
  • Away pitch: deeper, near the front of the plate. On time, it goes the other way.

Timing is the Hitting Processor at work: see it, decide, and get the bat started on time. At Varsity speed a fastball takes under half a second to get to the plate.

Questions

What does the bird's-eye view show?

It's a high camera above and behind home plate. You see the pitcher, the ball and its shadow come in, and the plate from above. After every swing, a gold dot shows where contact should have been and a red dot shows where it was, so a hitter can see early versus late.

Where should contact be on inside and away pitches?

Out in front of the plate on the inside pitch, about a foot or more in front. Deeper on the away pitch, close to the front of the plate. The middle pitch is in between. That's why a hitter who's on time pulls the inside pitch and drives the away pitch the other way.

How is the timing measured?

From your tap, the bat takes about 150 milliseconds to reach the ball. The game compares that moment to when the ball reaches the right contact point and tells you how many milliseconds early or late you were.

What do the levels change?

Pitch speed, the timing window and the pitch mix. Rookie is slow fastballs down the middle. Varsity adds inside and away. College and Elite add changeups and curveballs that test whether you can stay back.

Is it free?
