Swing Sequence Builder Put the 7 checkpoints in order, then spot where problems start.
Setup, load, stride, launch, contact, extension, finish. Round 1: put the swing in order. Round 2: read a swing problem and pick the checkpoint where it actually starts, because most problems that show up at contact start earlier.

Swing Sequence Builder
Round 1: tap the checkpoints in order. Round 2: pick where each swing problem happens.
Why the order matters
The swing is a chain. If the load leaks forward, the stride has no separation, the launch casts, and the hitter rolls over at contact. Fixing contact never works when the problem started two links earlier.
That’s why every AHD swing lesson starts by finding where the chain breaks first. Know the 7 checkpoints, then film one swing from the side and pause it at each one.
Training guide
What it trains
The order the body moves in a good swing: load, stride, hips, shoulders, then hands and barrel.
Who it’s for
Young hitters learning the swing, and parents and coaches who want a simple way to teach it.
How to get better
- Learn the order first, then feel it slowly in dry swings.
- Film from the side and check that the hips start before the shoulders.
- Fix one piece of the order at a time.
- Test every change with a simple before-and-after check.

Questions
What are the checkpoints of a baseball swing?
Setup, load, stride, launch, contact, extension and finish. Each one sets up the next, so a problem early in the swing shows up later.
Where do most swing problems start?
In the load and the stride. Leaking forward, losing separation and a hard front-foot landing cause most of what shows up at contact.
Does it work for softball?
Yes. The checkpoints are the same for baseball and fastpitch softball swings.
