Hitting Coach Certification
A hitting coach certification is worth it when it teaches you to assess a hitter, find the one priority that matters and prove the change on video. That is what this guide covers: how to become a hitting coach, how to compare certifications, what coaches earn and how to coach a whole team with one language.

How to become a hitting coach
- Learn a system, not a pile of drills. Assess, diagnose, build the roadmap, train, reassess. Start with How to Become a Certified Hitting Coach.
- Coach all four pillars. The swing, strength & explosiveness, the Hitting Processor and the mental approach. Most coaches only teach the first one.
- Coach real hitters and film everything. Same angles, before and after. The video is your résumé.
- Build the business. Rates, scheduling and how a good lesson runs: Become a private hitting instructor and How to run a private hitting lesson.
Is a hitting coach certification worth it?
It is if it changes how you coach on Monday. A certificate that only proves you watched videos won’t help a hitter. Look for one that makes you assess a real hitter, pass tests on the material and show your coaching on video.
- Does it train all four pillars? Swing-only programs miss timing, decisions, strength and the mental game.
- Does someone grade your coaching? A practical exam beats a multiple-choice quiz.
- Can you use it with a team? Practice plans, cues and one shared language for your staff.
To be straight with you: AHD Certified Coach is an AHD credential, not an official CEU, and it does not replace your state association or league requirements. Read NFHS vs a hitting coach certification, certification programs compared and Is it worth it?
